I've had this cute wee duck fabric for a while, in fact I
blogged about it last year, well before baby no. 2 was on his way. With ten weeks to go, I felt it really was time to pay this baby some well deserved attention and make it something special. At this stage in my first pregnancy we'd done a whole room, I'd made numerous accessories, spent hours researching baby purchases and made a photo diary of my expanding belly. I'm ashamed to say, we haven't taken one photo this pregnancy! We haven't done a babies room, we don't have one to do. In fact, the one researched purchase reflects this, it's a vintage bassinet on wheels, as our wee man is destined for a nomadic lifestyle around our
tiny cosy home. It's not that I don't love being pregnant, I do, and I'm sure I'll miss it, as I did last time, but I just don't have the time to indulge in like it did the first time around(we've had a lot happening the last few months). I read a very funny article a few months back, which reassured me I wasn't alone in feeling this way. You can read the article
here, it's by New Zealand journalist, Hadyn Jones.
Anyway, I'm rapt with how the quilt looks. It is lovely to have made something special for our wee boy, who despite our distraction will be a very welcome addition to our family, and this time we know the elation and overwhelming love that comes with their arrival, that is what I can't wait for(and that requires no preparation)!
