Things I'm loving....

My garden!  It's starting to look lovely and lush, my foxgloves are out, and my first rose bloom, bought last year from this gorgeous garden

Poppet is loving  this pasta... in particular the little 'rara's' a.k.a. lions.  I found it at New World in the pasta section, bit pricey, but lasts ages.

My canteen Christmas cards.  On the back of each is a story about the artist.  I flicked through them all, uplifted by the positive outcomes, only to come to my favourite (the gumboot/stocking one) which sadly was by a girl who lost her older brother to cancer, it tipped this hormonal preggo women over the edge!

On a brighter note, I'm also loving my latest wee baby shoes.  Such gorgeous images, and the girls pair are reversible, with a sweet vintage floral on the reverse.  For more images check out missmollycoddle on facebook.

Our first A & P show on Saturday... Poppet loved the animals!  My husband grew up on a farm and looked forward to these every year as a child, I was a city girl, so it's all new to me.  We'll definitely be making it an annual event though.

I'm linking up(very late) to Paisley Jades 'Things I'm loving' page.

How cool is this?

I love this Campervan tent.  If money was no object I'd LOVE a real one!  If I had a real one I could kit out the interior with fabulous retro accessories, lots of pastels and polkadots, stripey deck chairs, some strawberries and bubbles, aaahhh... perfect summer!

I can't believe my luck!!!

Remember these GORGEOUS Pyrex dishes?  I posted about them here.
Well, I thought it was such a shame I didn't have a set of six, never in my wildest dreams did I expect to so easily find another blue one!  But there it was, sitting all on it's 50c lonesome, just waiting for it's new home.  Still can't believe my find.  Here it is, isn't it beautiful?

Since I'm linking up to Sophie's Pyrex Party, I thought I'd share another recent Pyrex find.  I love the colour and daisy chain pattern on this pink beauty.  I was never really a Pyrex fan until I discovered all the gorgeous pastels out there.  To see some more shining examples, check out this blog.

I may just have to link this up for this weeks flea market finds too, in fact it could be my favourite for the year.  What are the chances of finding it?  Can you tell I'm still buzzing?

A special quilt for our wee mister...

I've had this cute wee duck fabric for a while, in fact I blogged about it last year, well before baby no. 2 was on his way.  With ten weeks to go, I felt it really was time to pay this baby some well deserved attention and make it something special.  At this stage in my first pregnancy we'd done a whole room, I'd made numerous accessories, spent hours researching baby purchases and made a photo diary of my expanding belly.  I'm ashamed to say, we haven't taken one photo this pregnancy! We haven't done  a babies room, we don't have one to do.  In fact, the one researched purchase reflects this, it's a vintage bassinet on wheels, as our wee man is destined for a nomadic lifestyle around our tiny cosy home.  It's not that I don't love being pregnant, I do, and I'm sure I'll miss it, as I did last time, but I just don't have the time to indulge in like it did the first time around(we've had a lot happening the last few months).  I read a very funny article a few months back, which reassured me I wasn't alone in feeling this way.  You can read the article here, it's by New Zealand journalist, Hadyn Jones.

Anyway, I'm rapt with how the quilt looks.  It is lovely to have made something special for our wee boy, who despite our distraction will be a very welcome addition to our family, and this time we know the elation and overwhelming love that comes with their arrival, that is what I can't wait for(and that requires no preparation)!

flea market find of the year... and this weeks haul!

Ok, so I can't decide which is my favourite flea market find.  I've narrowed it down to the doll house and the sewing tin, both of which came from op shops. The doll house is currently undergoing renovations, so watch this space.  Anyway, Sophie is running a flea market find of the year competition, if you want to check it out/vote for your favourites.

This weeks haul included the following...

a box of wooden car/train set, ten bucks from a garage sale...

more vintage children's coat hangers...

cute, cute, cute books from local oppy.
